The Dot2Art Solution website is the online home of a graphic design studio founded by Johnson, a designer with more than 20 years of experience. The studio offers brochures, clipping path, creative designs, embroidery digitizing, line art, rhinestone designs, vector artwork and visiting cards, and customers simply email their order. I redesigned and rebuilt the site, which is live at dot2artsolution.com.
What I built for the Dot2Art Solution website
- A fresh design based on the studio’s magenta-to-teal logo: a bold hero with the founder’s illustration, soft animated colour glows, a pill-shaped glass header and a scrolling strip of the services.
- A light and dark theme switch that follows the visitor’s device setting and remembers their choice – the logo swaps to its light version in dark mode.
- A bento-grid services section and a page for each of the eight services, each with its own work gallery and a click-to-enlarge viewer.
- An Our Works page that brings together 44 pieces from every service, with filter buttons for each service and the studio’s before-and-after samples.
- “Get a quote” by email and Skype instead of a form, so the site needs no server-side code at all.
Design approach
The studio’s artwork is the product, so the layout stays quiet and lets the images lead: generous spacing, large rounded image cards and one strong accent gradient taken from the logo. Every old page address was kept, so existing links and search results still work.
Fast and secure by design
The Dot2Art Solution website is a hand-built static site – plain HTML, one stylesheet and a small script, with no plugins and no database. Pages load quickly, every image was re-optimised, and the server is set to refuse running any script, which removes the usual ways small business sites get attacked. The same care for speed is behind my guides to image optimisation for the web and dark mode design and CSS.
Result
With the new Dot2Art Solution website, the studio has a modern, mobile-friendly site that shows its work properly and is easy to maintain. See more works.
