Free web development tutorials for beginners
These web development tutorials take you from your first HTML page to building interactive sites with JavaScript and React, and on to server-side code with PHP, Python and SQL. Every lesson is short and practical, and most examples run right here in your browser, so you can change the code and see what happens.
How to use these tutorials
- Start with HTML, then CSS and JavaScript – they are the base of every website.
- Add a framework or library next: Bootstrap for quick layouts, React for app-like interfaces.
- Learn a back-end language when you want forms, logins and databases: PHP or Python, with SQL.
- Practise in the Code Playground, test yourself with each track’s quiz, and keep a cheat sheet open while you work.
The lessons follow current web standards. When you want to go deeper, the official references are excellent – for example MDN Learn web development by Mozilla.
